I've already posted this idea elsewhere, but I decided here it would be more organized.

First things first, I'm an uncaring asexual girl. Humans might as well be blobs in the real world since they pretty much are in my mind. I say this because of the subject matter. I'm not horny or obsessed or perverted, it's just how things read after a while. I'm blaming this on the fact that my brain was looking for a way out of the purple prose and so my brain found that the subtext of the series tells me that Edward has a small penis.

I don't mean that as a joke, per se. I know the author said she did not intend any messages in the story but,you know how you can read mormon messages in Twilight? Similar deal with Edward's penis. I'll be posting quote that gave me this impression, but for now, let me show you the things that made me arrive to this conclusion:

1) I studied greek art recently, which was probably what made me arrive to this conclusion, and all those figures and sculptures that Meyer compares Edward to have small dicks. See, the beauty standard was that a beautiful piece of art based on a beautiful boy/man would have a small penis. Why?

2) Because small penis means civil, and how many times does Bella describe Edward's civility vs Jacob's?

3) Jacob is described with savage qualities and thus, implied art-base, that he has a big penis. One of the reasons Edward is such a jerk to him is because he has a penis envy. The standard of beauty is different now and he feels threatened by it.

4) One of the reasons Edward hate high school? School showers. How would you feel if year after year you find out that you have the smallest pair (and had a complex about it)? I bet that in more than one year he was teased about it. Not even that, he's a mind reader, how many times has he heard (Holy crow, his dick is smaller that my newborn baby brother). No wonder he hates everyone.

5) I bet that's why he takes pleasure on guys like Mike getting rejected, "Take that! Who's the big man now." Their defeat gives him self-esteem, but since this is fake self-esteem he goes back to brooding and hating himself.

6) Or when he invades the minds of teenage girls and see their version of him, a viral big guy, and he feels he can't perform for the rest of his eternal life. Which would explain why he projects his wishes and desires on Bella, because he has hope that she's different-- that she doesn't want him that way.

7) When she wants him that way he panics because the idea of all those previous girls and is confronted with the reality that Bella might not be so different and leave him so...

8) He forces her to marry him on the idea that Bella will have to be with him forever.

9) Why he seems to control Bella's impulses? It's because a girl mocked him for it decades ago and he hasn't recovered. He wants to be biblical with Bella, he's just afraid she'll laugh at him and just makes up lies about it ("No Bella. I don't have those urges") and tries to avoid getting turned on ("Bad Bella! Stop stripping! I must think of baseball).

10) The reason Bella doesn't say he gets turned on downstairs is because she can't notice it. Instead she justifies it with him being too pure and her too ugly.

11) The knock out sex scene didn't happen out of malice. As much as Edward denies it, he was pumping her like crazy to overcompensate his insecurities.

12) The great sex is obviously a lie they tell themselves. In part it's because Bella has never seen a dick but also because she has no choice. She's a wife, dependent and dead, not like she can "do any better". Edward was holding the carrot in front of the donkey this whole time, manipulating the circumstances and she just followed.

13) Why does he force Bella to accept expensive material things? He feels is the only way he can please her. He's afraid of what Jacob has and must look for other ways.

14) Why does he act with contempt towards Rosalie? She makes fun of his problem. Every night he can hear her go "Dear God Emmet, you are so big! Screw my brains out with your huge man-stick"

So, that's my take on Edward's actions. He's just self-conscious and needs therapy, a helping hand that will tell him "It's not the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean"

How valid does this take on Edward's actions look?
