Chapter 1, part 2 of Haou Airen
Jun. 14th, 2010 10:59 pmI decided to take a break from Bree and those horrible creatures of the night to revisit the wonderful work that is Haou Airen. As horrible as Meyer is, it doesn’t cause the anger this manga causes in me.
Last time we left the manga as our wonderful heroine brought her would be rapist home where her baby siblings were sleeping. She even gives him one of his father’s shirt. (Truly he would have wanted it this way) Why? Because she’s retarded. Now on to the show:
So she starts to change and he walks in on her and she’s blushing and starts to apologize. Asshat proceeds to throw the shirt back at her and commands her to clean his wound. I guess I should be thinking "Ah, what a charmer" since our heroine swoons at his chest. He's way too skinny and his face is too smug for me to like him in any way. It's like watching Edward strip in New Moon, "DO NOT WANT!!"
She then realizes this is a stranger and asks his name as she heals him. He’s called Hakuron. Yeah, I still prefer Asshat. She then tells him her name and blushes when he repeats it. Idiot! Then she proceeds to ask the unknown rapist why would dangerous men be after him. Huh, that sounds like a bad idea. He proceeds to respond like this:

He then smiles at her and she gets all wide eyed and thinks “He’s probably not such a bad guy after all.” Yeah because somebody who is chased around, threatens you and tells you to mind your own business in the most suspicious way possible is bound to be a wonderful yet misunderstood guy.
Once she is done he leans down to make out with her. She stops him before hand and gets all flustered and he figures out it would be her first time and does he ever gets off on that. He does her the favor of teaching her how to kiss and once he’s satisfied this happens:

He whispers thank you and runs away.
Next morning Kurumi is all worried, wondering where Asshat is. She even starts wondering if it was all just a dream. The mangaka remembers that Kurumi has a family and we get to meet her sick mother. This character is useless and forgotten, this moment serving just to show how wonderful and kind Kurumi is. Well, considering she brought Asshat home, she can go screw herself for all I care.
She finds a dragon bell and that means it wasn’t all just a dream. This produces immense joy in her and wonders where could she find him.
Next day at school her friends talk about how she’s not energetic anymore and they invite her to a movie. This is only here to pad the pages until she gets kidnapped which is in the next page. Good bye girls who weren’t named, Kurumi’s prince charming has to cut everyone out of her life before he can begin dating her.
I’m amused by the way everyone just looks on, surprised at best. Nobody shouts “call the cops”. I guess she was too annoying to stand.
In the car she gets drugged, again, and passes out. When she wakes up she’s on a plane on her way to Hong Kong and sees this wonderful view:

This is only an opportunity if I can beat you up with a bat, cover you in honey and feed you to hungry fire ants.
Kurumi asks what’s going on, he tells her they’re on their way to Hong Kong and she’s shocked by it. Then we arrive, they get off and Kurumi starts to wonder what’s going on. Is the concept of kidnapping foreign to this girl?! God, she’s stupid. And so my chapter ends until next time.
